Homedays Update, 4 Volunteers Needed!


We are in need of 4 people/shift for next weekend's Home Day Booth. Thank you to the following volunteers who will be:

  • greeting visitors into the booth;
  • encouraging/accepting memberships from new and current members;
  • selling basket raffle tickets;
  • directing visitors to yearbooks;
  • selling Breakfast In The Park tickets;
  • selling 50/50 raffle tickets.

Your Association at work. Did you know?


Graduating Senior Awards. In ten years our Association has given 17 Graduating Senior Awards totaling $7,600.00. In 2009 the Association awarded $100.00 to one student. In 2016 and 2017, we awarded $500.00 each to two students ($1,000.00 per year). A ten-fold annual increase.

Educator of Excellence.


Each year the Association selects and recognizes a past or present Educator of Excellence at a noon luncheon in the High School. The program is very well received and about 70 Alumni, teachers (past and present), school administrators and family members attend. Recipients include: Jeff Enkler, Geraldine Kaftan, Karl Schuld, Ken Gunlicks, Joe O’Brien and Mark Echstenkamper.

We are always looking for memorabilia from your high school years. If you have rings, class photos, yearbooks from 1926 thru 1928, 1931 thru 1944, 1946 thru 1951, 1992 and 1994, or other related items you would like to donate to the Alumni Association, please email Elaine (Wisnieski 57) Kukawka at elainekukawka@gmail.com.

Memorial Bricks

We have a limited number of memorial bricks remaining from the former Independence High/Middle School. Each 1922 brick is $15.00 and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Please email Kelly Hatfield at kellyhatfieldwmc@yahoo.com
